I work on improving CAR T-cell therapy in oncology, stem cell transplantation and cancer treatment. Although my position, studies and degree are always my top priority, I always try to improve other aspects of my life. I am addicted to sports and try to always stay fit mentally and physically. I'm a good traveler and looking for days off where I can fly out and explore life on different levels. Niloufar Bahrami
In my PhD I desensitize allergies using the gut microbiota. In my free time I do sports, enjoy nature or meet friends. Juan Zilic

What we do

Representing the students' interest towards the MIM PhD Program by participating in the Steering Committee and General Assembly meetings

The Steering Committee leads the daily business of the program such as finances, teaching activities, events, updating the MIM regulations.

Linking current and former MIM students

We organize a number of get-togethers for MIM students for scientific and private interaction, as interview round pub crawl (for new candidates), welcome party (for new PhD students), MIM Apéro (every three months, for all students).

Contact persons for MIM students

Life may not always be easy, but you are not alone. Contact us before problems get too heavy or whenever you feel like you need an opinion from somebody else. We will do our best to help you with:

  • any organizational questions and difficulties during your PhD or your life in Zurich
  • any problems that you might encounter in your lab, with your colleagues, your project or your PI

We would be happy to receive your input on a regular basis, so that we can truly represent the PhD students of our program. Therefore, if you think something in the PhD program is not going the way it is supposed to be, if you have suggestions or ideas, let us know! (Also the other way round…)

We hope to see you soon during one of the upcoming MIM events!
